Have NO IDEA what you want to do as a career?
Just get out of school and looking for your first job?
In a job that sucks, but don’t know what you want to do next?
Feel good about your current job, but are not being challenged?
Trying to figure out if an internship (paid or unpaid) will help you?
These are questions that are often asked by your generation these days, so I wanted to cut through the confusion and create a show about:
Are You On The Right Career Path?
When it comes down to it, knowing if you’re on the right path can be more difficult than you could imagine…but the good news is, there is a way to determine if where you are at now is a good learning opportunity and stepping off point, AND, what direction you should turn to in looking for a new opportunity for growth and expansion to your ultimate goal.
This week, Voice of Millennial, Angela, and I dig deep into such things as:
– The way to make an internship work for you
– What to look for in a first job or your “next” job
– What to focus on to build a rock-solid resume
Angela was a huge help in the discussion today, having just gone through a number of these same situations and shared some great personal experience advice. She had a particularly great story about overcoming a “situation” during an internship.
Plus, we take a look at some really good articles about internships (Forbes versus Elite Daily), what you should look for in a first job (Business Insider) and a great article about building a “skills-based” resume (The Muse).
The video of the show is also located on the website under the “Videos” section.
Like always, if you have any questions or something to add, give me a shout in the comments section or shoot me a thought or two here.
